Prickly but comfortable.
Cactus finalizes all changes from the last test versions. The new version finalizes the move from ownOnline oOPlay to Pangom PanPlay and cleans up some of the code. No more debug messages. The new design is based on this website and goes from chunky corners to charming nice curves. PC users can control the volume with the mouse scroll wheel. Smart phones now see larger covers and marquee title information. Cactus is new and brings more convenience.
More comfort
More comfort with … Cactus? Actually yes. Cactus mainly brings improvements under the hood, but this leads to better comfort and use.
- Text-scrolling was integrated in the mobile view
- The song cover now has round corners. When you click on the song cover, the “Now playing” window opens
- New designs: aero (not yet finished), hc-dark (for black player with high contrast), laut (displays the player in the font and color scheme of the laut.fm platform)

Changes to CDN server support
The old CDN server (oop.ownonline.eu) is no longer be in operation, but will only forward to the new server. From June 2025 it will be completely offline and will no longer retrieve the player. If you use our CDN, please take action now and change your links.

Basically, only the domain at the beginning changes and “play” becomes “app” – that’s all. If you continue yout to use the old URL, the following happens:
Current situation (until June 2025)
The old CDN server is already in restricted operation. It redirects all requests without version information and requests for versions 0.0.1.6 Freesia and 0.0.1.8 Hyacinth to the new server. Versions 0.0.0.2 to 0.0.1.4 Daffodfil can no longer be used. To continue using them, they must be downloaded from the GitHub repository and then hosted on a separate server.
From June 1, 2025
the old CDN server and the entire former oOPlay domain – now PanPlay – will be shut down as part of the ownOnline brand. Links to the old server will then only refer to a landing page that informs about the server shutdown..
Updates since Cactus
Cactus 0.1.0.0 was the point where PanPlay’s numbered builds began. Rather than starting a new post for every single build, we’re keeping the ongoing story right here — this section gets a new entry every time a build ships.
0.1.0.1 “Dandelion” [Build 1029]
A housekeeping release. Player identity, version info, and legal/hoster references moved into one central configuration file (storage.php), the browser compatibility baseline was raised to engines from early 2021 or later, and the core attribution shown in the About dialog is now protected by an integrity check. Release on GitHub.
0.1.1.0 “Everlasting” [Build 1030] — current stable
Everlasting is the final release built on the original Bootstrap interface, and PanPlay’s long-term stable baseline while the next interface generation is developed. It introduced the Content Protection Mechanism (CPM) for Baseaudio, a connected settings surface for language/theme/URL parameters, a full localization repair across all 54 language files, and a visual pass across all eleven selectable themes. This is what Get PanPlay → Stable points to today. Release on GitHub.
From here on, PanPlay’s next interface generation starts its own version line (0.2.x and up, built on the Pangom Web Framework) — those are pure test releases for now, and get their own running post: Fennel, Fieldrush & beyond.
