🆕Release: “Barberry” 0.0.2.0

|

Version 0.0.2.0

PanPlay has a new release and a new name!

Barberry is making all the changes from the last test releases acceptable and is finally bringing more network stability through fewer requests. Streams from laut.fm stations now generate less network traffic, but continue to deliver all information from the API. Redesigned windows provide a breath of fresh air. With Barberry, PanPlay is the first service to separate itself from the old brand “ownOnline” (oOPlay) in terms of name and structure and is turning to the new “Pangom” and thus also adopting the new name “PanPlay”.

More stability

The Laut extension now communicates with the Laut.fm API via a new routine. This loads the same information and even more, but with fewer requests. This expands the information options and despite this – relieves your data consumption.

  • You now see more station information than before.
  • The most played artists are shown. The DJ is named.
  • The genres and the station’s home country.
  • The AllMusic and Streema databases have also been integrated.
    • Allmusic searches for the desired artist or song, which you can click on from the track history.
    • Streema does this for the station genres.
  • The windows have been redesigned for this purpose as part of the APICall change.

“oOPlay” goes, “PanPlay” comes

As part of the renaming of our main brand from “ownOnline” to “Pangom”, all of our offerings are undergoing change. This includes “oOPlay”, which from now on will be marketed under the new name “PanPlay” at. The entire player has thus moved to a new domain under a new name. Please also note the changes to our CDN server.

As part of the renaming, the URLs of the PanPanPlay (formerly oOPlay offerings) will change

With the new release, PanPlay is now also available in Danish, Spanish, Dutch and simplified Chinese in addition to the existing languages of German, English and Italian.

CDN-SUPPORT:

Changes to CDN server support

The old CDN server (oop.ownonline.eu) will no longer be in operation from 01.11.24, but will only forward to the new server. From 2025 it will be completely offline and will no longer retrieve the player. If you use our CDN, please change your links.

OLD CDN URL: https://oop.ownonline.eu/play/0-0-1-8/?lfmstream=eins&hl=es

NEW CDN URL: https://play.pangom.net/app/0-0-1-8/?lfmstream=eins&hl=es

Basically, only the domain at the beginning changes and “play” becomes “app” – that’s all. If you continue yout to use the old URL, the following happens:

Current situation (until November 1, 2024)

The old CDN server supports versions 0.0.0.2 LEGACY to 0.0.1.8 Hyacinth. The new CDN server only supports version 0.0.1.6 Freesia and newer. Anyone accessing the old CDN server without specifying a version will always receive the current version. The old server will redirect all requests without version information and requests for versions 0.0.1.6 Freesia and 0.0.1.8 Hyacinth to the new server. Requests for versions 0.0.0.2 to 0.0.1.4 Daffodfil are still handled directly by the old server.

From November 1, 2024

The old CDN server goes into restricted operation. It redirects all requests without version information and requests for versions 0.0.1.6 Freesia and 0.0.1.8 Hyacinth to the new server. Versions 0.0.0.2 to 0.0.1.4 Daffodfil can no longer be used. To continue using them, they must be downloaded from the GitHub repository and then hosted on a separate server.

Towards the evening of December 31, 2024

On the evening of December 31, 2024, the old CDN server and the entire former oOPlay domain – now PanPlay – will be shut down as part of the ownOnline brand. Links to the old server will then only refer to a landing page that informs about the server shutdown.
